Q: Hey, I thought ManaLink was supposed to be FREE! TEN is a PAY service! |
A: TEN is, for some games, a pay service. However, if you download the TEN client for ManaLink players (or if you bought Duels of the Planeswalkers), you will be able to create an account that will allow you to play Magic (via ManaLink) on TEN without charge. This is a special deal for Magic players.
Q: I run ManaLink, but get a NONET message (or) I don't see anyone in the ManaLink window! |
A: To play ManaLink online, you cannot run ManaLink first. This should be the procedure: 1) Connect to TEN. 2) Enter an Arena. 3) Click the Enter button. TEN will take care of the rest. |
Q: Every time I try to run ManaLink, it tells me that gcconn.dll is missing! |
A: You have probably installed ManaLink or the latest patch to a directory different from the directory to which Magic was installed. If Magic is installed on D: and you installed the patch or ManaLink to C:, just move the files from C: to D: and you should be fine.
Q: What are the new cards in Duels of the Planeswalkers? |
A: Here is the full information on Duels of the Planeswalkers (DotP).
Q: But I already have Magic, and ManaLink! Why do I want DotP? |
A: You may not want Duels. If you want those 84 extra cards, then you have to buy DotP. As an incentive to existing Magic players, if you have the original Magic: the Gathering, you are entitled to a $15 rebate on DotP.
Q: I don't understand all of these deck types. What do they mean? |
A: You have five choices of deck type in ManaLink. These are:
Q: Where did these deck rules come from? What is the deal with this ranking system? |
A: The answer to both of these questions can be found on this reference to the Duelists Convocation International (DCI). |
